Although we saw a light coating of snow a couple of weeks back, that quickly disappeared and we've been enjoying quite a bit of an Indian Autumn!? here in Northern Indiana this year. It's almost unheard of to be snow-less the week of Thanksgiving...not that I'm complaining. Give me a couple of weeks of snow in December and I'm all good. I used to love it as a kid, but once you have kids to start worrying about...or rather the road conditions and other drivers...it loses some of its sparkle.
I'm just fine with kickin' back with a few of these Snowballs! Eggnog, rum, and lemonade mixed together in a glass to form a "grown-up ice cream soda"...adapted from a Nigella Lawson recipe. Head on over to Cocktail Puppy where I posted the recipe...join me in throwing back a few Snowballs!
Is 7:15 a.m. to early to have a snowball??? Haha!
ReplyDeleteIt is 5:34 am here, and one sounds good to me! I will have to take a look at Cocktail Puppy, sounds fun. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou are a temptress. We just had an ice storm. I could use a cocktail.... a snowball... oh! It's 7:40 a.m. Too early?
ReplyDeleteHere in London, it's 15.20pm!
ReplyDeleteThe right time!

I'm ready for the cold weather here. It was 70 degrees here yesterday and it's going to be 70 again today. Bring on the snowballs!
ReplyDeleteOH. MY. GAWD. Yum!! I happen to have the rum and the lemonade at home, so I just need to pick up some eggnog!
ReplyDeleteyou know I would be there with you baby if i could! I always find it funny how in cocktails, things you wouldn't necessarily think go well together work perfectly! egg nog and lemonade? does it curdle? probably tastes awesome! Enjoy your no snow weather, but I hear the cold is creaping in! hugs! Alex
ReplyDelete...Sometimes cocktails for breakfast is just what we need- cheers ladies!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAlex...it does that little curdle-thing....kinda like a baileys & cream or a white russian...a good curdling effect!!! Does that make sense???
once...in vienna...i was at a coffee house and ordered a snowball--which i thought at the time was a dessert--but it was a very strong alcoholic beverage---not nearly as appetizing as yours sounds! i'd be happy to toss a few of these back :)
ReplyDeletecheers heather! i would love to share one of these with you, this looks delish!
ReplyDeleteWe have been all about the rain for weeks here. I could use a few snowballs!
ReplyDeleteSoon to be my favorite snowball!
ReplyDeleteYes, please. I will have a few with ya. mmm
ReplyDeleteIt is rather cold these days...save this for me till summer? :O
ReplyDeleteOh wow this looks great! I could gladly drink a few of these :)
ReplyDeleteStarting December 1st I'm doing a event on my blog for 12 straight days where I feature boozy Christmas inspired drinks :) This would fit in perfect!
It was 81 degrees in Austin today, so you know I could use quite a few snowballs. This drink concoction looks HEAVENLY. Thank you for sharing with me...I hope you have a wonderful week of feasting, friends and family!
ReplyDeleteThat's the ONLY kind of snowball I want to see around here. :) It sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sounding drink. Same here in Denver. We've had no snow. I love our big snows and what's nice here, at this altitude, as soon as the sun comes out the big melt starts.
ReplyDeleteWe had a slight covering of snow about 2 days ago and since it is COLD it is still here. No snow at Thanksgiving makes it easier to travel the roads. That is one thing to be thankful for. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving BBFF.
ReplyDeleteI love cocktails for breakfast or whenever...I'm in :)
ReplyDeleteSince we don't get the regular snowballs here, I should try a few of these. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHaving spent the first 32 years of my life in Florida, I am still a kid when it snows here in TN.
ReplyDeleteBut these snowballs look like you could enjoy them all year 'round.
