This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TABASCO® Original Red. All opinions are 100% mine.
Does anybody else keep a bottle of TABASCO® Original Red on the table for a little extra oomph? I think the time I reach for it the most is when I'm eating eggs. Any kind, really. Shake it over an omelet or perfectly poached eggs or a fluffy pile of scrambled eggs while they're still warm. That punch of chiles and vinegar hits the warm eggs wafts up to assault your senses. In a beautiful, familiar way. That's the thing about Tabasco, it adds not only a healthy kick, but also wonderful flavor. It's not about the sheer thrill of putting a little hair on your chest. It's about enhancing your your food, instead of overpowering it. For me, Tabasco's defining quality is that it enhances other foods. Because, while I like my heat...I hate it when I can't taste the food itself. Take for instance pizza. From homemade to frozen to take-out. When ours is ready, we grab the plates and the bottle of Tabasco. Anything from plain cheese to ham with pineapple to chicken and veggies benefits from the addition of a few splashes of 140-years-plus of tradition.
Each chile pepper is hand-picked at its peak, when juicy and deep red. They are then mashed and mixed with salt harvested from the waters on the very island the seeds are grown on, Avery Island in Louisiana. The only other ingredient used in Tabasco® Original Red is vinegar. Individual batches are aged for up to 3 years before being strained, bottled and labeled 22 languages and dialects and shipped to over 160 countries and territories around the world.*
I feel confident each time I splash a bit on my eggs in the morning, or my salad with lunch, or my pizza during the big game, knowing the history and care that goes into making each bottle of Tabasco® Original Red. If it's been a while since the last time you used Tabasco, why not give it another go? Or perhaps you're simply looking for new ways to spice up a pizza (Pizza Perfected) or find new game-day food traditions (Game-Day Party Menu)...check out the Tabasco website for all kinds of delicious ideas!

I'm a Tabasco lover too. I have several bottles in my spice cabinet. I like it on eggs too. I also mix it with may for sandwiches. And, I also like to mix it with chicken for buffalo-inspired quesadillas and pizzas, etc.
ReplyDeleteWe like Tabasco too, but we only use it when we don't have homemade chili, you can't beat the homemade chili.:) Great write-up. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure my boyfriend couldn't survive without that little bottle of hot sauce...haha.
ReplyDeleteI love a good shot of Tabasco on so many foods. I think it punches up and brings out flavor in soups and stews. It's one of those seasonings I couldn't live without.
ReplyDeleteI just love Tabasco.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a wonderful addition to add to many dishes. I especially like it with my skinnylicious Nachos Supreme Plus, spicy foods are good-for-you too!
We always add a splash of Tabasco to scrambled eggs before putting them in the pan to scramble. Sometimes I add it to an olive oil/citrus vinaigrette. Love the stuff and can't do without it. There's nothing like the real thing.

Bit of hot sauce is a must!
ReplyDeleteI'm of the opinion that tabasco is a requisite condiment...like salt and pepper. What an awesome review! I love putting it in omelets...hellz yeah.
ReplyDeleteI have tabasco red and green chili sauce in hand. You have written awesome review, nice idea of putting them on omelets.
ReplyDeleteActually... I can't stand Tabasco Original. The smell of it makes me a little nauseous. I hate when a tablemate shakes some on their eggs.... BUT Chipotle Tabasco??!!!
ReplyDeleteI could drink it! I put it on everything!!!!!!!!!!! YUM!!!!
Tabasco is definitely a staple...
ReplyDeleteNice review :)
We carry a little tiny bottle every time we go out to eat, specially breakfast that include eggs. :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful post :) We too always keep it and just a drop can do magic to certain dishes :)
ReplyDeletei've become a bit of a hot sauce junkie, i put it on just about everything now. tabasco is wonderful, and i like the red stuff, but have you ever tried the green stuff? it's so good!
ReplyDeletegreat review!
Ryan ADORES hot sauce, and I've actually had to try to wean him off the stuff (he consumed far too much!) But we love a little dab with our eggs...how could we not? Thank you for sharing with me. I hope you have a great weekend. I'm ready for some warmth!
ReplyDeleteI am a Tabasco lover too!
ReplyDeleteI love Tabasco a lot!
ReplyDeleteTabasco is my favorite commercial hot sauce although my all time favorite is a micro batch brand.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I love hot sauce with eggs. Have you tried their green sauce? Even better with eggs.
I love that vinegary kick that Tabasco gives! The smell, too ;) But can you believe I've never tried the green or the chipotle or the garlic (GASP!)!!?? I'll pick up one of each on my next trip to market....except garlic because I can't find it anywhere in my area (tears). I take donations ;P
ReplyDeleteWe're a tabasco family too. My husband especially loves it. I'm a total wimp and don't like anything with a hint of spice (mild salsa is about all I can take), but oddly enough, I like tabasco too. We have a collection of assorted different ones. We have the original one, sweet chili tabasco, soy sauce, teriyaki, and smoked. My husband's favorite is the smoked, and I like the sweet chili.
ReplyDeleteI love the chipotle tabasco. Hey, you could send this review in for BSI this week! :-)
ReplyDeletewe are definitely tabasco fans. my husband practically will not eat his eggs without it or some cholula, at least. i use it mainly on my chicken wings. :)
ReplyDeleteI Blame my brother for my addiction to hot sauce and especially the light clean fire of tabasco. He was in the merchant marine academy and the food was at best passable, but they had bottles of sauce on the table and he brought the habit home. At first I was not interested, but then I tried it and it has creeped on to most meals I eat, what can I say, i love the heat! Tabasco is great, and I especially love the chipotle version. Super good, but the red holds my heart and is awesome in bloody marys! Alex
