Sometimes it's the simple things. You know what I'm talking about...
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens.
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens.
Brown paper packages tied up with strings.
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens.
Brown paper packages tied up with strings.
or perhaps...
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels.
Door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles.
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings.

Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings.
might I add...
Sun on my shoulders and wind in the willows.
The echo of laughter and sweet faces on pillows.
The sweet mellow sound when Dave Matthews sings.
or maybe...
Mangoes and yogurt puréed into lassies.
Going incognito behind my dark sunglassies.
Adding new lyrics to already popular things.

Mango Lassi
slightly adapted from Happy Days with the Naked Chef
serves 4 (<---- that's debatable)
1 c. plain greek yogurt
~1/2 c. milk + more as needed
7 oz. fresh mango, pitted & sliced (~1 mango)
4 tsp. sugar, to taste
Put everything into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve. You can refrigerate this lassi for up to 24 hours.
*forgive me Rodgers and Hammerstein...and Sound of Music lovers everywhere....
I've always wanted to try one of these! And I have everything I need in the fridge right now!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute post. You had me singing along!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried this before but my daughter gets these all the time at one of our local Indian take-out restaurants. I should make this for her - it's so easy!
ReplyDeleteI love mangos every time! I love like smell! This look perfect and delicious! gloria
ReplyDeleteI love this fruit looks perfect and delicious excellent desktop hugs.
ReplyDeleteEsto es una delicia, me encanta.
ReplyDeleteSaludos
Mmmm! That looks delicious. Mangoes are my favorite fruit! I use them in my smoothies at every opportunity. I didn't know that I was making a "lassi". I'm not calling them smoothies any more. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend!
This post made me so undeniably happy between the mango lassis and the song. Love this! (though I might not love it after having the sound of music stuck in my head all day)
ReplyDeleteVery good and I do love Mango lassi. Yum!
ReplyDeleteLOL, Rodgers and Hammerstein must be rolling! Looks fantastic, so cool, I would love one of those drinks.
ReplyDeleteLove them...they are great with fresh mangoes, but if you can find them try them with canned Alphonso mangoes...that's the way a lot of restaurants make them.
ReplyDeleteI may be the only person in the world who doesn't enjoy mango.
ReplyDeleteBut I did very much enjoy your song! Especially the sunglassies part.
Mmm, wonderful! I could use a lassi right about now. Mango would be perfect. ☺
ReplyDeleteDid you ever see a lassi(e), a lassi(e), a lassi(e). Did you ever see a lassi go this way and that:)
ReplyDeleteIt's just amazing how refreshing a lassi can be on a scorching hot day. I'm not a huge fan of Mango but something tells me I really should give it a whirl again.
Thanks for sharing, Heather.
P.S. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. It meant so much:)
You missed your calling as a song writer. ;-) I love a good mango lassi--so cool and refreshing. Great pick. ;-)
ReplyDeleteRodgers & Hammerstein could learn a thing or two from you!!! Mango lassies...mmmmm!!!! Another of your recipes going on my "to make" list! :)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds not only nice and easy, but pretty healthy too-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteYou know what I love to do? Pour that concoction into popsicle molds. Nothing better on a hot day.
ReplyDeleteThis just might be the best mango lassi I've seen. It looks SO cool and creamy. Makes me wanna wrap my lips right around that glass..ha ha.
ReplyDeleteI've never made this from scratch before. I usually buy the mango pulp in a giant can. I imagine that's the equivalent of making pumpkin pie from a can :-)
ReplyDeleteMouth watering.
ReplyDeleteIf you get a sweet mango, you don't need to add sugar.
ReplyDeleteI can really go for this right now.
ReplyDeleteMMmmmmm.
