Chapters/Sections: Cookies - Cupcakes - Whoopie Pies - Doughnuts
Fantastic Features: Beautiful photos sure to tickle any sweet tooth.
(a few of the many) Recipes Destined for my Kitchen: Peanut Butter Thumbprints w/ Peanut Caramel, Mexican Chocolate Crackle Cookies, Old-Fashioned Spice Doughnuts, Nutmeg Puff Doughnuts, Raspberry-Cherry Crumble Bars, Lemon Cheesecake Cupcakes w/ Lemon Glaze, Gingerbread Whoopie Pies w/ Orange Buttercream Filling, Maple and Bacon Doughnuts
Additional Thoughts: This book is small and cute and contains 50 recipes. Plenty of choices for the baker or dessert lover that range from classics like Lemon Bars to a bit more out of the box like Chocolate-Earl Grey Shortbread coins. I think that along with a doughnut pan (because all of the doughnut recipes in here are baked and require one), this would make a fantastic gift.
Recipe(s) I have already tried: Be Creative Sugar Cookies

Like I need another reason to hit Sur La Table. I'm like a wildwoman in that store. Their books are excellent; thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteI love the store, but didn't know they did cookbooks. I have to try the Lemon Cheesecake Cupcakes with Lemon Glaze!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's time I start making a list of cookbooks I want for Christmas. Number one - this.
ReplyDeleteQue ricas
ReplyDeleteMmm, I've been meaning to try donuts with bacon on them, I've seen them in a few shops but I haven't gotten around to it- I get too full on chocolate glazed! That Lemon Cheesecake sounds great, too. Are the recipes pretty easy though? Sur La Table is kind of fancy!
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to decide what to make from this book. ;-) Love how cute you sugar cookies are.
ReplyDeleteI love your cookbook reviews. I always see cookbooks and everything looks great in them but I do not like buying them unless someone I know or trust has tried them. And you cook far more often than I do and I love your blog, so I trust your opinion. Maybe I should start writing down titles I see that I'm interested in and I will send them to you in the hopes that you'll try the cookbook first. :)

Yum what makes that sugar cookie creative? I like making Funfetti cookies- which are just sugar cookies with sprinkles baked inside so they melt into a delicious rainbow of sugary goodness. I want to make sugar cookies like the one in your picture...
