I think zombie fiction has evolved a lot in that respect. I mean, I don't remember ever being very attached to the older movies or stories. Or maybe they were and I just wasn't paying attention. Which leads me to the announcement of a new series here on All Roads Lead to the Kitchen called "In the Kitchen with Zombie Fiction".
Once a month or so, I'll be heading into the kitchen to create something pulled from or inspired by a work of zombie fiction. I'll be classifying zombie fiction as something that revolves around or includes zombies; it's as simple as that. I'll be featuring books, movies, tv shows, cookbooks, music—anything that involves the legend, lore, or inclusion of zombies in some form.
While I will be featuring a lot of current fiction (because that's what hooked me), I'm going to look at this as a personal challenge to go back and delve into some of the older zombie stories, see what I missed or didn't pay attention to before they snuck up on me.
As always, time spent in the kitchen is always better with friends, so if you're a blogger and would like to join me, please do. Feel free to post your food and drink inspired by zombie fiction with a link back to this page and then leave a link to your post in the comment section. I'll be sure to add a shout-out and link to your recipe on my post for the month!
Here is a list of some of the fiction I'll be featuring in upcoming months. Some things, like tv shows, will probably be featured on a regular basis (like The Walking Dead and iZombie). Feel free to leave suggestions to your favorite zombie fiction in the comments section, as well!
