Blackberry Wine Slushies (for Tyrion) | Game of Thrones

Blackberry Wine Slushies (for Tyrion) | Game of Thrones
Welcome to day 6 of the Game of Thrones inspired recipe challenge! Have you been keeping track of the recipes that Evelyne and I have been sharing this week? Are you ready for tomorrow (premiere day)!? I am beyond ready. I have been binging the entire series again, this time with my husband who is watching for the first time—he was hooked from episode 1, of course.

My inspiration behind today's recipe comes from episode 1 of season 5. Tyrion has escaped King's Landing with the help of Varys, and they are now both in Pentos. Tyrion has asked Varys why he helped him, and along with the fact that he did it because Jaime asked him to, he's trying to explain his vision of a "better world". As always, Tyrion is armed with a quip.

Where the castles are made of gingerbread and the moats are filled with blackberry wine.

                                                                                                           -Game of Thrones, S5:E1

I actually planned on making an actual gingerbread castle with a blackberry wine moat, but I didn't have time with my surgery and the recovery I'm still going through. However, I do still plan on making it...with a goal to post it by the finale of this season! Tyrion has been another of my favorites from the very beginning, and I can't wait to see what Season 7 has in store for him.

I hope you'll drop by again tomorrow—premiere day—both here and at CulturEatz to see how Evelyne and I each interpreted our "themed day". Will our dishes be similar...or entirely different? Oysters, Clams, and Cockles!

P.S. check out this awesome GoT illustration representing the scene (that whole tumblr account is super cool)!
